Kate Watkins is a fine art printmaker and artist based in Hampshire, UK. She produces original prints inspired by an exploration of print processes taking in both figurative and abstract subject matter. Her practice currently focuses on abstract and geometric transparent ‘shelter’ forms which represent imagined architectural forms and complex colour relationships. This is in contrast to a long held interest in coastal landscapes, beach ephemera and natural textures as a source of inspiration . Kate uses a broad range of traditional printmaking techniques such as etching, silkscreen, monoprint and collagraph often combining them with photography imagery and digital printing. She studied Fine Art at Leeds University and has an MA in Fine Art Printmaking from Winchester School of Art.
